Not at all. However, there are two exceptions:
1. If the record sell or distribute the content to others - or even benefit - whatever. Thus, it is mentioned for personal use, fine - like the first answer.
2. As mentioned last answer is banned in circumvention of protection against copying. However, it may, perhaps, legal in some cases. For example - if you bought a DVD in the store and want to make a backup of it because of concerns that scratch - bypassing copy protection for that which is perfectly legal unless they re - distribution of the copy. This is the shaded area of the law in this area. You can copy DVD legally possessed. Protection against copying is available to those who know illegal (black market, copy, for example) - but usually the bad guys, and ignore the "good guys" do not hold.
In addition, the use of CPRM-brand content that is protected by digital signals, can be configured so that only one-time registration. The feeling when you copy Belovedng TV, digital video recorder, and then try to copy - can not even be copied. The flag can be set to allow a predetermined number of copies - but it is usually configured to only allow you to.
I'm not sure if they are illegal .. My opinion of him, why sell them when it was illegal. I had one and can not take half the time is because people anyway films that can do something for the DVD not be saved. Many new movies had.
While they do not benefit from the registry, or claim as theirs, or reproduction for commercial purposes, it should go.
